Very attentive to children, Keith Haring worked to spread awareness of drug abuse, illiteracy and AIDS. He defended the rights of homosexuals and rallied against racism and injustice in all forms. His works had a particular emphasis on nuclear war, destruction of the environment and various other subjects to which Haring was devoted.
